INTERIOR DESIGN

Explore the world of Interior Design by creating floor plans and sample boards in this creative class. No experience necessary, just a love of designing and an appreciation for beautiful interior spaces. 

JAZZ WORKSHOP

​Louis Armstrong said, "Jazz is music that's never played the same way once." Students will improve their skills in this intermediate / advanced level class. We will learn about jazz style, theory,and improvisation in a jazz combo setting. No previous jazz experience required, but you must have a minimum of 2 years of playing experience on your instrument. 

PHOTOGRAPHY

Explore the power and possibilities of light – both natural and artificial – in this class designed for all levels of experience. We will investigate traditional and contemporary modes of making photographs. Students
must provide their own digital camera.​ 

POTTERY

The Bible illustrates how God holds and shapes us in his hands like a potter creates a vessel. "We are the clay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand" Isaiah 64:8. In this class you will learn the basics of wheel throwing and clay working techniques, no experience necessary.

SCULPTURE

Work with a variety of found objects to create amazing "junk" sculptures.

Marcia Jarrett

​Marcia Jarrett has a BS degree in Interior Design from Illinois state university and has experience in residential and commercial design. She has a passion for taking spaces and turning them into something inspiring. 

Mark Hoffman

Mark is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies. He has toured nationally and internationally and has been teaching trumpet lessons for nearly 20 years. Mark serves as the Director of Worship at MCF.

Liz Schrenk

Liz Schrenk has a BFA in Art Education & Graphic Design and a MFA in Visual Arts. She taught art and photography at Elk Grove High School for eight years, and now runs her business, Something Blue Photography and Design, while juggling life at home with four young children.

Peter Schrenk

Peter Schrenk has a BFA in Industrial Design and MS in Art Education and Educational Leadership. He has taught art for the nearly 15 years and currently teaches Ceramics and Studio Art at Mundelein High School. Peter loves teaching students about the joy of working on the potter's wheel, and looks forward to teaching this summer at his sixth year of Inspiration Studio.

Melinda Lyons

Melinda Lyons is an art educator with over 15 years of experience. She has a BA in Studio Art and a MA in Education. Melinda taught visual art for 1st-5th grade students in District 21 and taught park district ceramics and arts camps. Currently Melinda teaches private art classes at her studio MelindaARTS in Rolling Meadows.
